Julianne Moore (born Julie Anne Smith; December 3, 1960) is a British–American actress and children's author. A prolific cinema actress since the early 1990s, Moore has established a successful career in both art house and Hollywood films. She is known for her emotional portrayals of ordinary women, and has received four Academy Award nominations for her work.

Moore has six upcoming films. In October 2013, she will be seen as Margaret White in Carrie, an adaptation of Stephen King's horror novel.The fantasy–adventure film Seventh Son in which she stars with Jeff Bridges, is scheduled for a January 2014 release. The following month, Moore is set to feature in the action–thriller Non-Stop with Liam Neeson.^[124] She has also completed filming^[125] on David Cronenberg's upcoming thriller Maps to the Stars, described by Variety as a study of celebrity obsession.In September 2013, it was announced that Moore has joined the cast of the popular Hunger Games film series: she will appear as President Alma Coin in the third and fourth instalments, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2, scheduled for release in November 2014 and November 2015.
